I think Supergainz its because the bar is not an Olympic one or not the one that the bench came with so thats why its a bit small. But seems to do the tricks unless you get too heavy.

Yes I figure it’d be hard to load up the plates, and to make sure you clear the arms to rack it back. Be careful daze!

Sorry supergainz, ... it's a old and kinda short bar. I haven't adjusted the plates yet.. just threw it up there when cleaning the mat.That bar was my dad's when I was my kids age, I daresay I need a need new one. When he put 90lbs on it it bends in the middle pretty badly, where the seam is

Thanks everyone. It's coming together nicely. We have had the bench for over a year but it was downstairs. There were no outlets in the downstairs patio and couldn't install a heater. Any barbell brand recommendations? The stops are where the plates are, works fine for me but Donnie has much longer arms, and the plates get in his way!
