Just measured body fat again with the callipers. Here are the results compared with last time:
..........................13/1/16...13/2/16 Triceps...................18............18 Suprailiac...............10..............9 Thigh......................28............24
Weight (lbs).........153.0......149.5 Body fat %..............26.1........24.6
Fat mass (lbs)........39.9........36.7 Lean mass (lbs)...113.1......112.3
I'm not sure about how accurate the measurements are, or how good the calculation is. I used the body fat calculator at bodybuilder.com/fun/how-to-measure-your-body-fat. However it seems to be encouraging. I think the 'lean mass' lost may include some water? There's no reason I would have lost muscle or bone, as far as I know
I think, like weighing, I probably need to look at the trend over time, to even out inaccuracies.

I've never done any of this type of measurement. Where do you get the caliper you use?

I need to get some of those calliper's to measure my bodyfat.
I have scales that a meant to calc it and they say about 22.5%
but measuring waist and neck with a tape measure and using an App
I get 19.82%. Callipers I think are better as they measure many
different points and just measure fat.

Hey Heidi, well done that's great, all im the right direction :-) xx

@Rhontique - I bought them online, from Amazon. I got cheap ones. They are probably not the easiest to use, that's why I'm not too sure about the measurements being accurate - it's a bit of a palaver. I have to get my hubby to help, as I can't do the measurements myself. I think after a few goes we will feel more confident that we are doing it right!

I'm glad you are using this as a motivational tool. I did this when I was 30 # heavier. I really need to do this, again. Thanks for the share.

I just use the scale, which I find to be close enough to the measured values, that measuring for me is not worth it.
I would imagine that measuring could be variable, particularly with the callipers and any 2 measurements with any measuring device would have to be in exactly the same place.

Almost in the 'healthy' range, yes. I read that there are three measures of being a healthy size: BMI (basically height vs weight), body fat percent, and waist measurement. I need to lose two inches off my waist, and a little bit more fat, then I'm good 😁
