Well made it past the 40lb mark down 42.3 pounds! Big deal for me to do this on my own, no trainer and no gym just will power and knowing other people are being successful on this site, no matter the diet it is a choice and one which I fell very good about, keeps me on a positive tone even with the ups and downs and the plateau's. I wanted this to be slow and not to change what I eat but how I eat and be able to make this a life change I can stick with... That was the most important to me, able to lose slow with -in my current life style and to be able to afford it!

After 12 years of struggles up and down I believe I have found my perfect diet, one I can live with for life, because I eat what I Want and I do not miss anything, nor do I have to eat what I do not like just because it is good for me. It turns out I like a lot of healthy foods, and I slowly incorporated better choices to cook with and my husband never even noticed so cupboards are full and always plenty to snack on and he now supports the change since now he can see the difference and wants to buy me new clothes. ( now that was a miracle in itself!)

Message for those just starting out... Do not get too discouraged when the lbs do not just fall off, your muscles have to catch up, because you will find new energy and muscle weighs more than fat... Watch you clothes sizes that is the real tell all and of course how you feel is just as important.

this is awesome! congrats!!!! I agree the clothes are the tell tale..cuz sometimes the scale doesn't reflect the built up muscles...I know some folks that roughly weigh the same but they burned off the fat and traded up for lean muscle. thanks for posting this..we all need to remind ourselves it's a LIFESTYLE now not a diet. (no matter what kind you choose as long as it's healthy and exercise driven) keep up the good work! we got this sh*t on lockdown! woot woot! 💜💜💜

Congratulations! I find your post to be very inspiring. Thank you for reminding me that muscle weighs more then fat. I have had ups and downs and A scale that didn't work for it told me I weigh 30 lbs then I do after checking with my second scale and two other scales elsewhere. I do however have to go buy new clothes because what I have is way too big when they were too tight. So thank you for reminding of that I feel so much better now.

I made my goal of 50 off just like you, ordinary food s, mind games and this site. It helps to enjoy a variety of foods. Took me 5.5 months. Maintaining it fine.

Well done, I made my 10lb goal, may seem insignificant, but believe me it was so difficult. I have just few more lbs/inches to go. I did get really sick and I believe it was the Keto diet, that made me so ill. I have been off all diets for 2 months now, and fingers crossed, have not gained any weight. Trying to eat sensibly, smaller portions, less carbs and less sugar. i am not going crazy, for example having no fruits because they have sugar and carbs in. I also do eat a little of my chips, chocolate, ice cream, but really try hard not to go over the top with them. I am still working out at the gym and walking. My fitbit really helps me stay accountable, with my exercise. My husband trys to nag and control me not to eat too much junk.

I agree - I started eating things I like and found out so many are good tasting and good for me...avocado, cauliflower with garlic, many types of vegetables, eggs many ways, all kinds of nuts, etc.

no goal successfully met is insignificant. You did it and now you can evaluate what you think the next achievable goal is. Just keep leap frogging from one success to the next.

Yes, no goal is insignificant and I still have 57lbs to go for my 100lb goal, but it feels so good when you get past the 1st set goal of 40lbs then my next will be under 200 and then onto 160 which seems high to some but I would be very happy with that weight for my age and bone density... besides I do not want to model I just want to be healthy and live life happy.
