Day 231- So I have hit a wall on weight loss, but I can see the end of it. I think I will see another drop in the next few days. I need to keep up on my workouts.
So, this weekend was the kick off of our youth soccer club fall season. As many know, I am president of our local club and this is my first year running this program (I run other youth sports in town also). We had opening ceremonies on Friday night and my wife says I ‘one-upped’ the out going president with my set-up. I had a full PA system, music, a real flag and structure to how the teams entered the field (BTW, over 250 kids!). All I can say is it is not worth doing unless you are going to try to improve upon the past. I will need to improve next year. When I took over of this club there were so many issues……. The club was about to fold if somebody did not step up and deal with all the crap, the club was fragmented. I brought back a unified jersey for most of our teams and you would not believe how many parents are so much happier that our teams are out there playing in the same uniform. Why coaches wanted different jerseys for each team is beyond me, I believe and preach we are all one big team and not 12 different teams. We have to have this approach if we are going to be successful. Another thing I have got to get through to everyone is every kid is important!!!! I don’t care if they are good or suck, they are there to have fun and we should be providing that. The thing that kills me the most, and now I just laugh at it, is the folks that want to slam me and give me a hard time just to give me a hard time and when I throw it back at them that they can step up and do something about it they run and hide, LOL. I just don’t know what these folks get out of doing that? And not to sound pompous, but it is amazing how stupid and out of it, some folks are, it really makes you wonder how they survive on a day to day basis? (Yes, I am venting) The best ones are the ones that ask you a question and you answer them to only have them come back the next day and ask the same question and expect a different answer……. Then there are the ones that think there should be an exception to the rules just for them. I had parents ask me to make an exception to the rules on a rule set by the US Soccer Federation! They could not understand why I could not do it? They also could not figure out why I would be fined ($500) if I did! Get a clue folks the world does not revolve around you. That is a major problem in my eyes with a lot of communities and it builds walls that we have to break down. I am not better than you, nor are you better than me, we are all in this together.
We may not have it all together, but together we can have it all!
