Jump started the GI way of eating the 20th of August, i.e cut out most of the carbs (a bit like Atkins, but without all the unhealthy fat), beginning at 74,5 kg. I also replaced all foods with high GI with better choices. I am eating one slice of german style (alomost black) bread, cheese, sweet peppers and two eggs for breakfast. This is a good start because it fills you up. I refuse to be hungry ! I have some beans or lentils for lunch and supper and sometimes at night (I now, bad habit) a bit of all bran cereal. For snacks I am eating nuts (plain without oil or salt) and some berries (blueberries, strawberries). That´s it. Any additional carbs are low GI vegetables (a lot) and avocado. I love avocado (practically 0 on the GI scale). Today, the 31st of August, my weight is 72,5 kg so I have dropped 2 kg in eleven days. Quite OK, because even if it feels great when the fat drop off really fast, the skin must have time to adjust. After my twin pregnancy I really don´t fancy more of that loose skin on my stomach ! Next week I am going to up the carbs and include some quinoa. Have promised myself to do one hour of low intensity cardio every day (stationary bike), and so far so good. I prefer (fast) running, but running makes me HUNGRY, and this is not the time to eat a lot. Next week the kids will go back to school after the summer holidays and I will have time to go to my gym for some weight training.
