Does anybody know if eating all your daily calories in one meal will make you gain weight? I worked a 14 hour shift yesterday and only drank water the whole day. I got home ravenous and ate about 1500 kcal worth of food.

That's what people do on OMAD (one meal a day) so shouldn't make a difference. I've read that it really doesn't matter what time you eat or how you split meals - all that matters is the total calories at the end of the day/week. Keep a consistent deficit and you will lose. Doesn't have to be perfect, just fairly consistent rather than occasional.

Yeah if your body gradually loses 0.1 kg over the course of the day because you're eating in a deficit or if your body loses 0.3 kg because you're not eating and then gain 0.2 kg when you eat a lot of food.. you'll still end up with your 0.1 loss. It's all about energy in vs energy out.

Thanks for the help :) Never thought of it in the OMAD sense at all. I can maybe do that every week that I am working. On my week off I can just do normal calorie counting for my meals

It all depends on the individual, goals, how fast you want to get to a certain point. I was on a cut for almost my entire life and until recently took the leap and took on a bulk program and all it is is more energy in as mentioned in the comments and I got stronger than I ever was so the performance came with the bulk but not always the aesthetics now Im on a cut again eating in a deficit, but I know if I do it the right way Ill cut to a certain percentage body fat in 3-4 months but then again you need to have a balance in life and therefore, its gonna take me 6 to 8 months but Im gonna enjoy the cut and no energy depletion or at least not an aggressive depletion will occur. Anyway to answer your question stay consistent with whatever method you use and the results will come and remember to enjoy the journey and not be to hard on yourself, its that easy.
