Great day so far...sore back and a brand new treadmill...crappy combo as i cant run.
Decided to do the RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER (i think its only a canadian event) whereby you have to raise a minamum of $2500 and you cycle over 200km...Im super stoked.

Sorry for your loss, Runr, Cancer sucks the big one. Yes, this will give you much joy and you are doing this in her memory. That is powerful. (I lost my mom to cancer when she was 58 young, I was 33 and still miss her today. That was in '92). Best wishes on your Ride!

Thanks so much LSW...33 is young to lose your MOm, I dont thinkk there is any good age but the younger certainly is more painful. My mom was a very fit 67 year old and my bestfriend was only 45 - her son is 18, very sad!

The big C sucks! This is a wonderful ride for you. I'm sure somewhat therapeutic. My brother passed from MS, and my Dad (87 yrs) always did the MS bike tour. He was one of the oldest and biggest fundraisers - it was something he could do for his son. He quit just a few years ago. I'm very proud of him and very proud of you! Way to go!

I think that's awesome how you are getting involved. How inspirational. I'm sorry about your losses. My family has experienced some as well, friends too. Thank you for making a difference!

Hey Glen, you are correct 125miles...its a big distance but I did the Ironman in August of last year so I know what it feels like. I dont know where you live but I live in the Toronto area so there is no outdoor biking right now (its about -15 farenheit right now). Needless to say I usually start cycling outdoors in late march early april (41F) ...THATS when i use toe covers on my cycling shoes, do you have toe covers?? They are only about $15 but well worth it. If you are suffering from numb hands - your bike is not fitted properly for you. Have you taken it in to be fitted properly to your body? alot of people never do but it makes all the difference in your time on the saddle. Thank you so much for the well wishes!!!
