It’s not complicated, lol. Insulin leads to glucose absorption in your cells. Excess glucose is stored as fat. Insulin spikes due to food choices leads to glucose stored as fat. Of course you can counteract this by getting off your ass and being physically active or reducing the incidences of insulin spikes…so…lower carbs. Pretty simple, right?

Or not being in an energy surplus. No need to counter anything except for your misinformation.

Btw, he's calling people like this quacks and waiting for the quacks to bite so that he can remove them from his friends list for being quacky. :D

Vending machine diet where Mark Haub improved all health parameters and lost 27 pounds because he watched his calories. No change in physical activity.

Diablo, the first study you cite assumes a healthy and normal caloric intake. The whole point of keto is to satiate appetite with less calories which by default leads to a deficit, which leads to less lipogenesis, hence less fat storage, resulting in weight loss. It’s not me denying your methods…you are denying mine. You need to accept that there are different methods of diet that work. I encourage anyone in a healthy enough position to do so to kick start their weight loss journey with 90 days of keto and then transition to a well balanced eating plan.
|
Please take into consideration the countless studies that shows a complete lack of appetite suppression and ability to self control caloric intake on a high carb and refined sugar diet.
|
It’s so much easier to control your calorie intake when you don’t feel your stomach growling…right?
|
This is making fun of people that claim it isn't about CICO. If you believe that, we're on the same page and you can move on. Delicious calorie dense food is easy to over eat. So yeah, of your calorie intake needs to be low, eat them less often.

And no, high carb diets are not less satiating. It's high calories foods coming from fat and sugar that are easy to over eat, not a baked potato, fruit, grains, etc. So no, it isn't all about low carb. High carb percentage diets are what the most healthy people on earth consume. It's about the right type of carbs. Like I've said before 150 calories of bacon vs. A 150 baked potato or any fruit. Which one is more filling? The potato or fruit, easily.

To the point of bacon vs potato, keto uses the fat in the bacon more effectively than the carbs in the potato. Keto satiates hunger and encourages fat burn which is what any weight-loss dieter is trying to do.
|
I mean I lost 30 pounds in 90 days on keto…it works. Some folks can’t get through the first 2 days. That’s their problem. And I would never claim you can eat a calorie surplus on keto and lose weight…that’s just silly.
|
But keto is irrelevant to fat loss. It still abides by CICO. Mark Haub lost at a greater rate than you on a vending machine diet. 27 pounds in 2 months...

I think that keto's greatest strength in weight loss is that you have WAY less options. 80% of a grocery store has carbs. You limit options on this restrictive unsustainable(for most) diet and it even limits your ability to efficiently improve body composition by being suboptimal for lean lass retention/gain.

It's the same reason people eat way more calories at a buffet vs. a normal sit down restaurant(without endless appetizers) options.

And that's why I dislike it. The same reason I dislike another popular trend. Crossfit. Idk how popular it is today, but for a while it was, and it's also a suboptimal way to build muscle. I can appreciate both for getting people healthier than they were, unless crossfit causes a serious injury, but I they are still more popular than they should be in my opinion. Both unsustainable in the long run for most people.
