Busy with funeral plans and kitchen renovation plans. My BIL's viewing is on Sunday and funeral on Monday. I signed off on my kitchen renovations contract, purchased all the materials and now will plan all the little details to prepare for the disruption. I purchased my new appliances on Friday (fridge, stove, dishwasher) with a planned delivery for mid-November. Normally I would be very excited but my emotions are all over the place because of the death in the family. It is to be expected. This too shall pass. Have a great weekend all.

Jenn, ya know I love ya! Try, if you can, to stay off grains if you can. It's going to be hard with the kitchen reno going on .... so be prepared for it. Once you go out of ketosis (which you have) and start eating the grains (which is in soups, too) ... you will gain weight like you never did before and it will be fast and furious ... possibly gaining more than you started out with when at your heaviest. This is what happened to me. I think this is when I broke my metabolism. You have so much on your plate right now .... just be mindful of the grains. (((Big Hugs!))) Prayers are with you and your family over your loss.

When I said you have so much on your plate right now ... I didn't mean food. I am such a dork. Sorry. You have a lot on your mind and a lot to deal with mentally and we are here for you. Hugs!

Thanks all for your support - so appreciated right now! Mom, you always manage to make me smile and I so appreciate that!!! You are so right about the grains and I am making meal planning part of the preparation I will do for the renovation. It is so easy to fall back into the old ways of eating - especially when grains are so convenient and easy to do without having a working stove. However, I have been able to secure a fixed price contract and commitment that the tear out and build back will be done in a week, so I will cook and freeze some meats, eat raw veggies, etc. My sister has agreed to do some cooking for a few days and she lives about 10 minutes away. The biggest issue is breakfast for my family! My hubby decided to go Vegan this summer and he's been eating a lot of cooked veggies - this will be the biggest struggle. It will require careful planning to ensure our marriage doesn't crumble when they tear down the kitchen (just kidding). I need to get back to ketosis before this all starts ... I have a few weeks!

FullaBella has the right idea .... smoothies!! Great breakfast and you get to throw in raw veggies and a few berries if you want or sweetener and protein powder. How bout that idea? Hubby should like it too. They just have to get past the green color. LOL!

I so understand what you mean about your emotions. Mom just passed on the 8th of September and I am having a hard time finding joy in anything right now! Hugs!!!
