I did my workout this morning and feel a lot more energetic - although I was just grunting and wheezing through those jumping jacks and jump rope exercises. My muscles burned today - maybe because my form is getting better and better as I get into the workout now several days in progress. I had a lazy morning yesterday. However, last night I paid my dues to Ms Jillian - what is it about working out in the late evening that feels so horrible for me? My whole body felt heavy, the arms, the head, the legs ... even the abdominals were fighting me last night. However, I got through it and made a commitment to work out in the morning since I seem to be much better then.

I will now have a big breakfast and get ready to take my daughter across town to the music studio for piano lessons. It's sunny here but not as warm as WFN's neck of the woods - since it's above freezing I will take it!

Having eggs and asparagus spears for breakfast. I skipped the Bulletproof coffee this morning - just didn't seem to need it today! Have a great day friends ... be golden!

about the pain? it's only natural! It's called post exercise muscle soreness and it's just about what your muscles do to recompensate to get through all this hard work. Try taking a cold bath post exercising and maybe think about some lean protein just after you finish working out? you see both the muscles and the fat are tearing down during exercise usually in a ratio 3:1 respectively, a percentage that may vary depending on how strenuous the exercise is! Non the less even that painful feeling it's fantastic and keeps you rejuvenated all day long!

jump rope? wow. very impressive. I must look at your exercise record. It is so important to move and use those muscles. Good for you!

I love JM DVDs - I lost 50 pounds using them the first year...

HCB: I can see why you lost all that weight on JM DVDs. She's a BEAST! So far I have been trying not to miss a day.

Catherine: You are so right about the post-exercise feel good. I am so energetic afterwards and I feel great! I just need to get through the daily workout - I know it will get better because I am building my endurance and strength right now. I have already noticed slight differences in the appearance of my body, even though the scale said I gain 2 lbs.

Sometimes after exercise you muscles will retain water while they are in the healing mode. I always weigh heavier after the gym.

You probably were feeling glycogen depletion.

HCB: I am OK with it because I can see some toning on the tummy! As long as I keep shrinking and feeling good / stronger I am happy with that!

GOYA: Due to my WOE, I would not be surprised if glycogen depletion is part of the equation.

I had the same problem tonight, Jenn. Of course, I don't think it helped that I ran first, then did the Shred.
