I totally understand if you skip this post cuz I am sick of dealing with this sickness and I'm sure some of you are tired of hearing about it. Was back at Dr yesterday as I had a terrible 2 days of not breathing right and very sore throat and earache. Finally got a Dr who seemed concerned and knowledgeable. I am going on 42 days of being ill. He tested me for strep, COVID, and influenza, All negative. He also tested me for heat failure as he said he didn't like the way my heart sounded and heart failure can mimic coughing symptoms. It was negative but he did suggest I call my cardiologist. He was appalled that I cannot get appt to see my regular doctor. He seems to think at this time my issues are asthma related but doesn't think that was case at the beginning. He referred me to a pulmonologist. Waiting for that to get approved. He put me back in Prednisone, and nasal spray, He didn't give me antibiotics for throat and ears as he said he thinks it's viral, not bacterial. I am still trying to get in with female Dr but her 1st appt is June 27. Meanwhile, I still feel lethargic and the pain from ears and throat is pretty bad. I understand why children cry so much when they have earaches...

Wishing you a speedy recovery !

Your ears hurt likely because your Eustachian tubes are swollen from the sinus infection. A decongestant like pseudoephedrine will quickly bring down the swelling and thus the pain.

awww Diana I really hate your dealing with this, my prayers are with you.

I hope they get this figured out soon and you recover quickly. I keep seeing stories about a surge in cases of RSV and especially in a lesser-known upper respiratory virus, hMPV (human metapneumovirus).

Diana, my heart cries for you. I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this but I’m thankful a doctor finally listened to you. Praying for healing ♥️

If doc is pushing you towards cardiologist and pulmonary experts, I absolutely would not take any decongestants without checking with that doc or at least a pharmacist first.

Ask them if they think chronic steroids are also decreasing your immunity? It is hard to get out of that spiral. I also know with chronic steroids you can have adrenal fatigue or more than that even. See if another option is available rather than steroids (obviously follow their directions until they tell you to change course). In my prayers!

if you took the vax, could be vax injury. follow up with cardiologist just to rule it out. there is a post vax protacol that might help

Unfortunately steroids are the most effective at bringing down inflammation. Inflammation in airways causing coughing and restricted breathing. It’s a vicious cycle. The idea someone mentioned about mold should not be taken lightly. We had a house built and within about 18 months noticed that my pulmonary symptoms were worse at night. My hubs thought it was mold in our bedroom. We had a remediation team come out and check and mother (&(&(*&( there was black mold in our brand new super high end shower. The culprit? The glass company didn’t seal the screws when they installed the extra thick shower glass door. Tiny space and entire back of shower had to be pulled out. It’s something to think about Diana. Im glad you are going to see pulmonologist. They will put you in a glass/plexiglass chamber most likely to get more detailed lung function info. Sounds like there is something more at play tho with your ears being involved. Yikes. No one said getting old was for sissies right? Prayers continuing sis.

Try different types of sinus meds. Benadryl works best for me.

Oh bless you! Something EXACTLY the same has hit our community. Same symptoms as well as loss of the voice! I’ve been sick for 3 weeks. 2nd round of antibiotics (longer and stronger plus, 7 day oral steroid). The steroid is raising my blood sugar levels from 108-110 up to 165 - as high as 176 as I’m type 2 diabetic so…ugh!! Eating very low carb, practically carnivore. So, every time I eat, I go for a 30 minute walk to help glucose levels go back down! Seemed like 100s of kids and many school staff were sick as well!! SOME nasty virus 🦠 is getting us!! Prayers they find answers for yours. No answers on my end either!!

@YearofHealth…yes, mold can be a very serious, even deadly problem. The building where I teach is the oldest on campus and many of us feel like there are mold issues, but nothing is ever investigated about it. We did get new cement floors last school year because the old has asbestos!! They actually removed the 4th grade extended hall while school was still in session!! It seemed professionally done but kids would play w the seal the workers had put up 😳 If I were a building principal, I would fight against removing asbestos while kids and staff are STILL in the building. 😡

@jenjabba…good to point out about the jab. Something to definitely consider.

Honee-black mold is what most certainly caused my lung disease. Exposed 20 years ago for about 10 months incredibly ill, in and out of hospital multiple times that year before a client suggested may be mold in my office. And yes the entire office covered in it Ten years later diagnosed with pulmonary disease. Didnt know about the relationship to pink eye tho and dont know why I didn’t consider mold when miss D first got sick. Storms, IVE been “retired” since July 2022 and not sick once since then with pulmonary, respiratory issues yet normally sick every 6 weeks or so. When you retire bet you stay healthier longer. The public.

@YearofHealth…we feel the same way. As soon as school starts, we ALL get sick!! 😡 Crazy about the pink eye, TONS of students have had it the past few weeks!! I thought it could be related to the high pollen in Arkansas or the newer Covid symptom. Nice that you are retired and don’t get sick now all of the time. I’ve got 5 more years.
