I have found that blood work analysis isn't always accurate. I've been mis-diagnosed with: 1) excessive testosterone 2) anemia 3) Liver cancer or hepatitis. 4) Borderline high colesterol. In each case, I waited 6 months for the next test to see the bad reading disappear. Weight loss and intense exercise (muscle building) can create odd readings. Some doctors have difficulty understanding how what is normal for us creates abnormal readings from time to time.

So working out can give false test results? I didn't know that is that just cholesterol or other tests? Sorry I'm late to this discussion and have never heard of this kind of thing but I know of other things giving false positives or other complications for tests such as eggs falsely lower sugar readings when you're getting a glucose test I scared my doctor when they told me to eat during a glucose test because my sugar dropped during the eating phase instead of rising but they didn't specify what I was supposed to eat LOL... ^^ I've never had a cholesterol test but probably get one and it would be a good thing to know before taking one. Thank you for the new information I will try to find some time to look at the article that you're referring to and read into how all that stuff works. I enjoy learning new things anyways and will give me something to do that'll increase positive development instead of just looking at cat memes in my free time LOL not that I don't love cats, teehee.

I experimented without telling my doctor I was leaving off the statins. Next time I went in he showed me the results. Ouch! Very steep rise in cholesterol. So I added them back -- next visit was back down to 160. They do help me, in spite of everyone saying to drop them.

This is the first place I've heard the term "moderate cholesterol."
