They are so gorgeous.  

Thanks for the compliments on the pups. They are also very smart. Nilla, the bi-blue, is 3 and a little crazy. Carson, the tri-guy, is 10 and just like his namesake, Carson the Butler, a very serious guy. And no I do not want a skunk. Oddly, in the 35 years I've been in my urban abode, I've only seen one skunk. But we've had opossums, raccoons, coyotes, and even a bobcat. I'm only about 1 1/4 miles from the river, and we have more and more wildlife there -- beavers and river otters have returned in the past few years.  

We had a sable sheltie and he was to this day the smartest boy we’ve ever had. He would bring the mail in and we would tell him who to take what to and he would. He played soccer and basketball with my child. He would do a takeaway of the ball and then bring it back to the hoop. Hide and seek (which he would always win) and so many other amazing things. We would point our finger (shaped like a gun) at him and go “bang” and he would fall over on his side but his tail would be wagging so we would say, “Max, all the way dead” and his tail would go limp. My goodness. What a walk down memory lane. He was my daughters 8th birthday present and such a love. He lived 15 1/2 years and i still miss him. Thank you for sharing the pics of your cuties. 

Yearofhealth2023 -- Oh it sounds like your boy was just wonderful. I've had three sables in the past. My sable girl Wrigley knew all her commands in English, Spanish, French and Polish. I've never been much for training tricks, but Carson and I run agility and rally together, and Nilla runs rally (she's too excitable still for agility!). I love the breed, and I'm glad you had such a good experience with a Sheltie.
