OK -- Friday night holiday dinners, which, hilariously, included a couple of spare ribs from the neighbors -- not generally considered a Rosh Hashanah food. Yes, I ate above my calorie ceiling, but still: I measured everything I ate. I didn't just load up my plate, but weighed my brisket, measured my soup and carrots, even my kugel. So even after all was said and done, I most likely ate fewer calories that I used. If I'm going to make this a permanent way of eating, then this was a good example I think of how to manage family events and parties....
