waterweight is a head issue. I also get frustrated by it but it is not fat or real body mass. That is what I try to tell myself when it happens which seems to be every other day. I think when I keep my carbs very low very little tips the scale and that can be hard to deal with. I always try to drink lots

Liv001 it's really a problem since I'm not sure why. It's causing my hands to be so swollen and go numb at night. Not a weight issue but inflammation. And I'm always in ketosis so this shouldn't be happening really. It's been 2-3 weeks now. I do get what you're saying.

One of the the B.P. meds hubby is on causes edema. Swiss cheese is one of the best cheeses for being lower in salt. Yogurt has very little sodium. Eggs not a lot. I was shocked at how much salt ham has in it. I used to eat it every day and have cut back. I tried to find lower sodium ham and it was still way too much. Going back to bed sounds good. LOL.

Morticia, I'm actually on a high sodium diet. Salt is good. My BP is very low and long story, i need to bring up my blood volume. I have something that's like POTS.

Jen, check your potassium intake, if you do high sodium, you might be losing too much postassium your body will hang onto water if you get low on potassium. The sodium/potassium balance is pretty sensitive.

personally I would complain to the doctor who prescribed the meds and ask if there is any alternative, since you are not responding well to the new medication

My doctor has me on a prednisone taper right now for inflammation. I went up 7 pounds in one day and my feet and ankles are all puffy. I know how you feel. It’s frustrating but sometimes the treatment is more important on a temporary basis. It will resolve in time.

I'll try to find the video but apparently there's some connection in some medicines and killing off the gut bacteria which causes weight gain as well a probiotic for gut health could also be helpful. And it wouldn't hurt so if it's not helpful it wouldn't hurt anything either. printed the video I was watching was mostly for antidepressants and antipsychotics but I'd say it apply to other medications as well but they had released a new study that had seen a lot of the medications in these areas that caused weight gain could be treated with a probiotic which would help counteract the weight gain that we see when taking these medications. I'll see if I can find the video in my feed from where I watched it it's been a while but I think I can still find it and it's not like I'm not doing a lot of bed rest right now anyways.

here's a link I was talking about like I said it's not a perfect fit but it's really interesting video and you might find something that's helpful from it if not well just disregard it and go on with life... ^^

leah, very interesting. ya know, I've seen people on BP meds that gained weight. I'll watch that video. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. being in ketosis my body usually never holds onto extra water, swelling. just weird.
