Happy Holidays FS Friends
Happily it has been a very nice Christmas. My regional friend had guests from Alberta and they invited me to be part of their Christmas events. On Christmas Eve afternoon the 12 of us (8 adults, 3 children and a baby) went on a wagon ride in Niagara on the Lake. Quite the different way to see the town which itself is wonderfully quaint. Ethan the Clydesdale was lovely as was his handler and tour guide. I never realised that Clydesdales are ginormous horses.
Yesterday, I spent part of the day picking up dead branches in the exterior yard that the high winds of a week ago had pruned from the trees. It was a glorious day at 13 degrees Celsius and the sun shining brightly. My furbabies came out with me, were running around doing puppy zoomies, getting covered in mud. It's funny to see 2 geriatric dogs play like puppies. My youngest at 5, well she was bound and determined to find the groundhog who keeps digging under the fence (and I keep blocking back up) She did not want to come inside at all. All of us had baths, then off I went midafternoon to my friends for Christmas dinner.
Prior to dinner we played a team version of Cranium. Fun game and good thing that we were in teams as I can't hold a pen at the moment, nor can I sculpt with the playdoh, but gave a crack at the charades (never played before) and the hum this tune part of the game. For the life of me though, couldn't figure out how to charade the word "hormone". The head of he Calgary household had bought us all matching Christmas pj bottoms so that a group photo commemorating the event could be taken. Well, there is a first time for everything. New traditions are good!
Needless to say, tracking food intake these past couple of days has been near impossible and so I didn't. Tried to be judicious in my choices, but who really knows how many calories are in a homemade mincement tart or cheese laden mashed potatoes. (they were good) Back to the normal routine today.
Wishing you all the best of this season!
