Hello everyone, I can't keep my motivation. I don't know if it's because the house is always filled with unhealthy food or because of my depression :/ My whole family is overweight, and we've never really learned how to eat healthily. I need advice.

Hi Nadia, I have just started myself. My best advice is to find how to cook your everyday meals a healthier way, buy your own snacks so you have some of your own to snack on rather than the high calorific ones ☺️

it can be useful to find what foods cause you to keep weight on/put weight on and curb these first. take small steps, it can be hard and demotivating to cut too much too fast. I found that thinking of food as being bad or naughty just lead to me feeling guilty if I ate it, but that made me want it more. I don't forbid myself anything, but try to be a little more mindful of the quantity I have. don't forget, it's a journey, there will be ups and downs, twists and turns, but you can get there if you keep your goal in sight. be kind to yourself ❤️

I decided I liked eating healthy foods, though I can't get my family to join me - I enjoy being healthy! and it might be a way for you to do it - enjoy being healthy no matter what your family does or what foods are in the house - this is about YOU sweetheart!

Dear Abby! I understand you completely. I had the same problem with my husband. He is ALWAYS buying cookies, chocolate. He used to eat it a lot in the evening after dinner. But because I was trying to loose weight, I got upset with him. Once I asked him not to eat cookies, chocolate infront of me. But, point is which I am trying to make. I can't change him. I am changing myself. I turn to this app and found lots off friends who are ready to motivate you.Now we have less cookies in the house, husband eats less of it.😁

Hi, one thing to consider is: when you're hungry, what is a human body asking for?... energy + nutrition. We now live in a world of mass food production and greed. Actually food production is a loose term, in other words what's presented as food is often ground down grain, sugar, salt, fat, flavouring and a bit of animal protein = largely money for old rope. A lot of us need to start seeing the processed crap as almost useless energy provision. Our bodies need so many nutrients, we just quick fill and get back to work like cars skipping maintenance checks. My advice is, buy some diet ready meals, when you're done with the cartons, refill them with your evening meal food to determine your portion size each night. Buy bananas, apples and oranges and always have a fruit bowl on the table and eat some each day. Ensure you always have salad or lightly cooked veg with lunch and dinner, and don't buy snack food at all. What's not in the cupboard can't get eaten. Also, buy something like fruit and fibre for breakfast and stick to the portion size on the back. Good luck 👍 💓
