Here it is dinner time and just now getting to logging in and catching up with comments. Hope everyone has had an awesome Monday so far. August heat has returned to the south once again. Looking at high 90s for the rest of the week. So made sure to get my yard work done today. Daughter helped me mow grass and I tackled the killer kudzu. Again. Picked another nice hatful (lol) of Scuppernongs! Also including pic of some autumnal whimsy we made yesterday. Bookish pumpkins! Turned out rather cute we thought. :) Hope everyone has a lovely evening! xo

Thank you Megburdick! Basically just scissors and a Xacto knife, and a hot glue gun. Super easy, here's just one of many tutorials online https://mountainmodernlife.com/diy-paper-book-pumpkins/

Scuppernongs must be a variety of muscadines. Haven't seen those since I left Louisiana. Yum. Love your pumpkins, we used to do something similar with Sears Catalogs in the "olden days." 😊

That is a paper craft worth trying. What was the source for the instructions.

Love your pumpkins! It's hot here again, too, but the mornings are still lovely.

Kenna, here is just one tutorial for how to make them, but it's actually simpler than this. Basically just take the cover off a book, trace a half pumpkin shape on the front and cut thru all the pages with knife and/or scissors. Hope this helps: https://mountainmodernlife.com/diy-paper-book-pumpkins/

Hi Shir! Yes, they are a type of muscadine. Im lucky to have an old established vine at my place. I remember doing those magazine crafts when I was a kid!
