I just don't know why but I've lost my motivation. I do need to stick with it a little longer, even if I just go through the motions. Every time I have gotten close to my goal in the past I've given up and a year or so later I ended up starting all over again - I HAVE to make it different this time.

How many times have you been at this point before?

Think of it as a lifestyle change - not as a restrictive diet!

Yes, Lady, I got your point - I have been here at least 4 times in the past - if I would have made it one of those times I would be in better position right now. Yes HCB you are right.

What happens in "the year or so?" A slow creep up? Do you feel better or worse for the experience of having lost weight?

The lack of motivation might be a hidden fear of "what's next". You know what to expect from yourself up to this point and how to handle it. Getting fully through a goal and into the unknown for me at least can be hard. It's not a conscious thing mostly. The other part is it feels like coasting after a while and the oomph is gone. Then I try to play a mind game with myself and "start over" where I am with a new goal whether it be a scale goal or a strength/endurance one. Hang in there :)

I recently lost my motivation... I confessed it to my husband and luckily he joined me on going lchf and it re motivated me. I hope you find your motivation trigger. why did you start in the first place?

I always do that, stall out right before my goal, I'm fighting it tooth and nail right now by being active in challenges, changing up my diet, keeping myself off balance. Otherwise I tend to coast, then slowly the coasting turns to a reversal. Good luck to ya!

Recognizing is half the battle. Suck it up, soldier, you can do this!

Unfortunately it has to do with being programed to sabotage yourselves, somewhere in your life someone or something made you fearful of success as if it will mean the unknown and in becoming vulnerable one again. Most tender hearted people who have been beat down, or betrayed in some way and having their worth not honored ... They are strong to fight through anything but when the get close a silent enemy triggers the hidden protection to avoid it being taken away from others so the do it first to avoid it... sadly if it happens many times it gets ingrained until it literally becomes them... Being aware of it happening is thevfirst step to the cure... Bless your hearts I truly understand and have fought the battle ....

Jim, I am being pro-active doing things deliberately to shake myself up and keep myself off balance and out of the coasting zone, look around and see what you can change to rejuvenate your interest. I did an eating experiment with carb cycling, then I did an extended fast just to see what it was like...discovered I liked it. Change your exercise routine, talk to yourself in the mirror....be your own drill sergeant.
