9 miles today.... Let's see how this goes! Half marathon is 12 days and counting.

I went out and bought some protein shake mix yesterday and a personal sized blender that also doubles as a travel mug. I'm very excited to use it. I didn't get a chance to use it for breakfast this morning because I have ZERO food in my apartment... 9 mile run this afternoon followed by a SERIOUS food shopping trip!

I am going to make some miniature egg frittata's to use as breakfast in the morning for the rest of the week, which I'm excited about, in addition to a protein shake. I have to buy some greek yogurt and lots of fresh or frozen fruit to make some yummy shakes.

My other plan is to make a big crock pot of chili tonight so I have some to bring for lunch tomorrow, and the rest of the week. Perfect post-run food... Lots of protein, with the carbs to help refuel.

I REALLY need to focus on my eating the next two weeks before my race. I haven't weighed in, but I know I have balooned up about two pounds and I'm not going to let it bother me. My weight always does fluctuate this way around this time of month (if you catch my drift)...

Either way, it is time to get serious about focusing on increasing my protein intake, balancing with the proper amount of carbs to refuel, and RUN RUN RUN! (Race goal: 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 10 minutes -- 10 minute pace)

My ultimate goal post-race is to drop down to my goal weight of 130 lbs by January 1st. As the race gets closer/passes, I will update with my new workout and eating plan! There will definitely be a much larger focus on calistenics and weight lifting. Maybe I'll bust out the P90x again...

We shall see!
