I am feeling a little unsettled today. I realize that I have to start working out. I love the gym(weights, cardio etc) however as much as I love the gym I love food even more. It has been confirmed when I workout I consume so much food(sometimes for days) How do I balance this? What are some of the right food choices to make after a workout? any advice will help...

It seems to help to eat some protein after a workout. Like peanut butter on a banana. (If your supermarket has one of those fresh nut butter grinders that's a good choice. No sugar, salt or hydrogenated oil but cheaper than the "all natural" jars.) Or a wedge of Laughing Cow light or full-fat cheese. I think that when you workout you get hungrier, but really your body is craving to replace the nutrients you burned. If you fill it with high nutrients foods (green veggies, whole grains, fruits and nuts) then you should be fine. I can understand your fear of eating more, but there are too many benefits of exercise to totally avoid it. Maybe your gym has a nutritionist? A lot of times you get a free consult with a membership. Might be something to ask about?

Here, check out this article about pre and post exercise eating. This article recommends eating a "fist-size" of food 1 hour before and/or 15 mins after exercise. (Copy into the address bar but take out the space before "nytimes." You can't post links in the comments...) http://well.blogs. nytimes.com/2009/07/02/eating-to-fuel-exercise/

Ok that didn't work. Just paste this phrase into google and it's the first article that comes up: "eating to fuel exercise."

I would have to agree. Try eating a salad with chicken and a low-fat dressing. You could even do an ounce of whole-wheat pasta with chicken (2pts worth) and a lower calorie alfredo dressing. I found one a while ago that was 2-3 points for half a cup. I think my total meal with salad and fat free italian dressing came up to around 7-8 points or so and I was full at the end of the meal and felt like I had totally splurged. Not only does that meal account for three of your good health guidelines, but it also helps you get some of those healthy carbs and proteins for your body to convert to energy and muscle. Pound the water as well. Sometimes we think we are hungry when we are really just thirsty. So try drinking an extra bottle of water before you eat. I also agree that you should try to talk to a nutritionist and they should have some great ideas. :) Good luck!
