Diario di peppymint, 15 mag 12

We kicked some serious booty at volleyball yesterday! It felt so awesome. This is the third season our team has been playing together, and we started off as complete strangers. The first season was really rough, and we've progressively gotten better after becoming friends. Now, we're totally dominating and it feels FANTASTIC. We went from 16th out of 16 teams, to the #3 team :) I'll take it! The gym was sweltering hot yesterday, so we really got a good work out in. Plus, it was a super active game, where we volleyed back and forth for every single point so we got lots of exercise. Games like this remind me of why I love the sport so much!

Tonight is my first REAL CrossFit class (no more intro classes!). I'm pretty intimidated.. I made sure a friend of mine will be there tonight to ease the nervousness. The nice thing is I get an email every morning with the workout of the day so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into that night. Here's tonight's workout:

Wod # 1 10 Minutes - As many reps as possible
10 thrusters w/ an empty 30 lb barbell
10 pull ups

Rest 5 minutes

Wod # 2 For Time
50-40-30-20-10
Double Under Jump Ropes
Sit Ups

200 leg scissors(l/r=1)


Intense, right? I'm excited :) I plan on going back for tomorrow's workout too as long as I'm not terribly sore! I'm really stoked to get back into the intense work outs. Hooray!

crossfit is scary! you are a brave gal for doing that intense stuff. and i applaud anyone that can do a pullup!

Oh don't you worry hahaha I use assitance bands. There is no way in hell I can do one on my own... but soon hopefully :D

I don't even understand what 3 of those 5 things are (I get sit ups and pull ups, lol). Anxious to see how it went!!

Thrusters is a type of weight lifting with a bar bell, double unders is using a simple jump rope, but every time you jump instead of having the rope pass under your feet once, you swing it around twice, and leg scissors are when you lie on your back and kick your feet back and forth. It was tough, but I survived!! My traps are so sore from those pullups though..
