And in time you will start to prefer it that way, I can only eat salad dressing on the side
19 mar 18 da utente: possible?

When I make a salad, I also make my own Good Seasons Italian, but using less oil, more vinegar and water. Still tastes great with 1/2 the calories of the original recipe.

That is quite an accomplishment...Ranch Dressing is addictive! WTG!

I haven't gotten over ranch yet. I take one tbsp and add 1 tbsp water, mix well. It doubles it without adding anything. Good for you. I did try a vinegar and oil, but it was a little TART!

i love lemon and oil on my salads...oil actually makes you absorb more nutrients from vegetables...learned that I'm nutrition class! oil/lemon tastes sooooo yummy and fresh..way better than balsamic to me (too sweet)

@Cbaker, get the hidden valley ranch packets, mix with mayo and sour cream or buttermilk. I prefer buttermilk because of the tartness. If you are worried about the carbs in the packets, here is a mix that my sister swears by:
1/3 cup buttermilk powder
2 tbl dried chives
1 tbl dried parsley
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp dried minced onions
2 tsp dried dill
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 packet of true lemon (this is a MUST)
3 tablespoons of this mixture is the equivalent of a ranch packet.
To make dip or dressing:
4 tbl sour cream
2 tbl mayonnaise
1/2 tbl ranch powder
Mix and refrigerate for at least an hour.
This can be thinned with heavy cream/milk if you prefer a thinner dressing.

I use Bolthouse farms ranch dressing if I really want ranch. 45 cals per 2 tbs, and it tastes as good as Hidden Valley. 🍴

Thanks Klynn82 for that recipe.

Youre welcome!!
@Phoenix, I can never find the bolthouse farms stuff other than the drinks around here. I have wanted to try it, but could never find it.
