I just finished seeing a dietician. I need to be accountable to someone other than myself. I will see her every 3 weeks throughout this process. With this app, running, seeing a medical professional, maybe all 3 will yield results. I am utilizing every tool available to me.

I would like to do the same thing. I need to be accountable. How did you find her.

Wow Patty! I didn't realize that. If I let my doctor see what I was doing, it would be unlikely I would do bad things knowing he could see it. I might talk to him about it on my next visit.

Patty, my doctor would be telling me to eat more plants. 5 cups a day. It's all I can do to eat 7 or 8 baby carrots. I do use onions a lot in cooking, but otherwise, it's tough for me to eat many veggies. And my doctor - although he encourages me, he's trying to coax me to more of a vegetarian or vegan way of eating. I'm trying some of his suggestions. I'm not drinking as much skim milk - he suggested almond milk if I must have hot chocolate (I must) because of hormones in milk. I'm getting used to the almond milk. And I'm making lots of split pea soup, he suggested getting some protein by eating beans, although he wouldn't like that I put a little ham in it - he says "NO PROCESSED MEATS". And I did verify with him that ham is processed meat. But it adds flavor to the soup, so I add about 2 oz of ham to each bowl of soup. But I also eat the nuts and avocado he says is fine to eat. You are supportive no matter what I do. And I appreciate it. I am having a little bit of a hard time getting back on track. Hopefully I'll go for a long walk tomorrow. And I just scheduled another trip to Fort Bragg for next month. Just me and Bobby. Since I can't leave him in the room alone, I' won't be eating out. Although, I have found 2 places that do pizza by the slice that I could run into if necessary. But I'm hoping I can just bring some good things for lunch, and skip dinner. The breakfasts are free in the lobby and I can get my half bagel with cream cheese and a cup of hot chocolate. And no stopping at Red Robin on the drive home!

I'm glad you said you need to be accountable. Many (most) on here just want to bend someone's ear and unload their guilt of perpetual failures. Thus the 2-10 program where they never succeed, and others chiming in to not be so judgmental. Plans without actions are dreams. Good plans, deep determination, and accountability (most importantly to self) will yield the desired results. God bless. BTW, stay clear of the mantra "everyone has to do it their own way." that mentality got them into their present circumstances.
