Day 163- So I took my run outside today, I used the 'Mapmyrun' app on my phone to track it. The report shows: 3.26mi, 31.18 mins, average pace 9:35 min/mi, average speed 6.26mph. Not bad for the first pavement run and I know it is off a little because I fumbled getting the app started in the beginning so maybe 30secs of messin around time? I used an armstrap for my phone and used pandora for my earphones, that seemed to work well and the armstrap did not bug me like I thought it would. Of course I had an issue with pace, I know I started way to fast, but after about 5 mins in I got it under control.
It is a much different feeling than the treadmill and to be honest I liked it a little better because there was stuff to look at and action around. I had to keep reminding myself to look up and stop looking down at the ground, that is huge factor in how tired I felf during the run. I also got the same 'why am I doing this, not sure I can do it right around the 8-10min mark like I do on the treadmill. It is strange how your body wants to stop, but if you push through it, it just goes into cruise control.
Well is good on the journey front, a lot of time at home this week with the holiday in the middle of the week. I have been buying a ton of cloths frrom the outlet malls and on eBay (The only way I can afford my summer 'relax' Tommy Bahama outfits, it is like Coach for women I guess.). I leave on the 9th for a 12 day business trip. Well sit back do a little work and see how sore my legs get from the pavement.
