I was born in Feb of 1971. I was anorexic looking until I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out when I was 6. After that I could actually eat and taste food, and became obese by the time I was 7.
I am like the 3rd or 4th generation of being obese. My Dad, Aunt, and Cousin all had the RNY back in the early 90s. They all had problems, my Cousin gained her weight back. Out of 9 people I know that had the RNY, only 2 have NOT had life threatening complications... This is why I chose to get the Lapband surgery in 2006.
I was 450 lbs at my highest, and had gotten down to about 300 when I got pregnant with my daughter in 2009. After having her in 2010, I never could hit the 'sweet spot' again, plus my esophageal sphincter dilated causing sever acid reflux. So, my surgeon and I decided to convert to the VSG after I had gained back up to 410 lbs.
I also had, and still have at times bulimic tendencies.
Food is a drug I'm addicted to, and I want this surgery to be successful and for me to effectively use this tool. I've learned how to graze and still comfort myself with food.

I'm the mother of 2 (teenage boy, preschool girl), married since 1998.
I have 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
I love to read paranormal romance books and play on the computer.
I collect dolphin, lion, and dragon stuff.
I like to go karaoke when I can.
I am a priestess in Wicca.
I graduated from college in 2006, Cum Laude in Computer Information Systems while working full time, my husband and I both at school, with our son in grade school.
I've also recently been diagnosed with arthritis (don't know what kind yet, doc just said I have it from an x-ray, seeing a rheumatologist soon), and diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
