Evening everybody. Well, saw my oncologist today and I will stay on the Gleevec until May 2020. Go to him every three months for blood work and CT scans every year for 5 years. Such is life. Spring is just around the corner and swallowing a pill every day for another year or so is not all that bad. Life is GOOD!!!

To continue on with my journey, I had my IVC filter removed yesterday so now I have a hole in my neck lol. Look out Frankenstein here I come. Next week I see the oncologist to fine out if I need to continue to taking the oral chemo for a while or if I can stop. It's been a quite a year but I can finally see the exit ramp down the road. In anticipation, I treated myself to a Fitbit Versa so I can really monitor what I'm doing. Because I have other non-life threatening joint and tendon issues, I'm somewhat limited in aggressive physical workout. I truly miss going to the gym and using all the Nautilus and weights but my degenerate discs and tendons don't like it. So I'll use my least fav the treadmill, to get started. I can't wait. I need to get ME back.

Hello again, I'm back! Had my alien extraction as scheduled and thankfully, it had shrunk enough to be done laproscopically. Not the most pleasant of experiences but 100x better than the alternative. Recovery coming along ok with a minor slip with an infection at the drain site so I'm now on everyone's favorite antibiotic Augmentin and the took the drain out Friday. My abs look something like a patchwork soccer ball lol. Thanks to all of you that offered support. It really does mean a lot especially on the really icky days.

Good morning world. Well we're on for tomorrow. Got a call from my surgeon this morning and having passed everybody's testing, we going to go ahead with the surgery tomorrow to send my alien back home. Any and all good thoughts and wishes will be gratefully accepted for this to be a good outcome. I'll keep you updated once things are said and done. :)

Well this has been an interesting couple of months. My surgery to remove my alien was postponed due to medical clearance problem. My surgeon had me scheduled for various clearances which all were done and passed except one. Cardiac..they scheduled me for the expected ECHO and then the doc decided we needed to do a nuclear stress test, 2 day proposition. Being allowed to leave at the end of testing I assumed all was well. Come to fine out I passed the echo with flying colors but the stress test "suggested" that perhaps there was a blockage. After consultation and deliberation, rather than do a CT scan we'd just do the cardiac cath which I did this morning. I am happy to report that I am disgustingly normal and that perhaps what they saw as a block was actually my screwy internal wiring from birth. So now its on to follow up visits and pre-op visit to reschedule the alien launch date unless someone decides I need a psych consult which I'm sure I would probably flunk right now LOL. Just need to regroup my thoughts and return to my mantra that everything happens for a reason. Will keep you updated and thanks for listening.
