So I wasn't going to weigh myself until monday just to keep things uniform but after a little indulgent binge last night (well .. not the end of the world) I had 100g of milk chocolate and 2 glasses of Coke Zero. I felt I needed to weigh myself to make sure I ain't going wild. that's my treat for the week, there'll be no more treats this week now.
My weight on monday was 105.68kg (16st 9lbs), my weight this morning after my cheeky nandos and my chocolate and soda relapse is 104.32kg (16st 6lb) so I'm lucky to have still lost a little weight.
It's not a huge amount but 1.36kg (3 lbs) off in 5 days is at least something.
Next time I'll try to be bit more vigilant and less weak.

Turned my hand at cooking, I'm trying to make an effort to grab a new item everytime I go shopping. This time I grabbed Butternut Squash. Although I have actually tasted it before (without knowing what it was) I've never actually tried to cook some myself so I gave it a whirl.
I whipped up smoked cod fillet in garlic butter, butternut squash mash (with a twist of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick), and some mixed vegetables (babycorn, broccoli, carrots and green beans).
Truthfully, I need a sieve or maybe next time add some potato to thicken up the butter nut squash cos it was a little runny. The veg I slightly over-steamed because I was side-tracked haha, and the Cod seemed absolutely fine.
Beginner Difficulty: 3 out of 5
So I've rated this 3 out of 5 because it's relatively easy to prep, the butternut squash was halved, de-seeded, thrown straight in the oven at 200 degrees C, left for 45 minutes, scraped mashed and bing bang bosh, a little bit of "how's your father" and it was sorted.
The Cod was simple too, it broke apart a little and I would've liked it to have been a little more cooked (I'll leave it in 4 and a half minutes on each side next time), but pan seared, very simple to follow, little butter and some crushed garlic at the end and bobs your uncle, easy peasy.
Veg, I swear .... the easiest job and I still messed it up.
I'd burn water, seriously.
Taste: 3 out of 5
I've NEVER been adventurous in the kitchen .... well maybe once or twice but we're on the wrong site for that information ;)
Honestly, liked the cod, could've been cooked another minute or two to make it less juicy. I like my meat/fish tough. The butternut squash tasted nice but was too runny and the veg was overcooked.
Thoughts:
I'd do it again, learn from my mistakes and hopefully do a better job next time, all in all ... I'm happy I tried it. Not likely to be on the menu any time in the next month again though. <3

So my wife is going away for a couple of days and wants to treat me to a movie and a meal. I mean, arrrggghhh .... I was doing so well too!
Screw it, live a little right?
I'll try stay below 2500 calories but I'm definitely blowing the 2200 quota I gave myself. Bah!
Looking forward to Nandos though <3
Thanks to my beautiful wife x

COVID ridden and feeling unwell while dieting is harder than I thought. I'm doing quite well though, I've managed to stick to my calorie allowance and now I'm branching out into cooking things I'd never have tried before.
Today I'm going to give Halibut a try with some garlic honey and soy sauce and a bit of rice. Maybe throw in some green beans and challots for good measure.
Powered up the smart watch for the first time in 4 months. Now you know it's getting serious when I start wearing a watch. :)
