That happened to me but I later found out that so many people are paranoid to say anything because they don’t know what is or is not offensive anymore. Especially at work. I finally had someone come up and say you look great, and then cover her mouth and apologize and ask if it was ok to say that. I was like “for real? I worked hard on this shit I want ALL the compliments!”

They've noticed, probably just jealous that they can't do it. 40 pounds is a great loss. Hang in there.

When I lost that amount, folks didn't say anything because they thought I was sick; they were just reluctant; it wasn't until I started getting fit and lifting weights then folks really started saying something. It may be they just don't want to say the wrong thing - You are doing a great job - keep it up

Take a picture of yourself (selfie - I am old). You will definitely see the difference. Wear something from 40 pounds ago. You will not only see the difference, but you will have a good laugh as the outfit will most likely be falling off of you! Keep up the good work!

Awesome! If it helps you could take measurements to see where it comes off. Don't worry about them. Feel good for yourself you deserve it! Way to go!

thats happened to me in the past, no one, even close to me said anything, then I figured 'oh what the heck" & gained it back. I think they were just ashamed they couldn't do it or figured oh why even say anything to me since I am a 'yoyo' dieter anyway, but mostly some of them don't even say 'good morning' to me anyway, but I know I'm worth it and keep on keeping on for ME!

Oh believe me, they notice. Keep going and soon enough you'll be getting surprise food gifts and comments like "I hope you lost that weight intentionally." Let's go! #stillgrindtime #stayhungry #inspiringAF #mindset

I like to have long conversations with my scale. If notices everything! And most of the time, but not all the time, it puts a big old smile on my face! Good job and welcome to 1derland! Go babe! 👊👍

Good Work !!!! Dysmorphia or not, it only matters if you feel healthier.....not what others think.... Yes, it is nice to be noticed, but your happiness is the only thing that matters. Dysmorphia does occur most often in persons dieting, those with eating disorders, or even bodybuilders. So please exercise caution..... I am a larger individual trying to lose weight so I can relate, 40 lbs to us larger persons is hardly noticeable ----so my advice is to stick to your plan, keep going, don't lose hope, and as more weight loss occurs it will be more noticeable even unto yourself while looking in the mirror. I am rooting 4 u, because I feel the same way at times !!!!! Just keep going and keep us apprised on your journey whether good or bad..... ;D

I think you'll find most folks have the attention span of fireflies - especially if they see you frequently, as they're least likely to notice... versus someone who sees you off-and-on, infrequently, over longer spans of time. Celebrate you, cause (sometimes) no one else around you will - proud of you!

You've achieved an amazing accomplishment! That nobody has complimented, much less mentioned your weight loss speaks volumes about them and does not lessen your success. Personally, I think it's weird that they haven't said anything. Heck, just compliment yourself!

I hope you don’t mind my saying but maybe your friends are reluctant to compliment you on your weight loss because they don’t want you to take it the wrong way. As in if they tell you that you look great now then they worry you will hear them saying you didn’t look great before. But that’s just my theory. I don’t know your friends. Best of luck.

Sometimes friends and people you know are uncertain if they should mention anything about your weight, also if you are like me, Ive lost about 20 pounds and no one as said a word... but then on Sunday I looked in the mirror and found out why..LOL I am wearing my old baggy stuff so even I couldn't tell how much I lost! LOL Go buy yourself something pretty, even if it is temporary.
Women will also not mention your loss because they might be a little jealous. Even very close friends may feel uncomfortable with the discussion of weight, so as long as you feel good, and you are heading to your goal, dont sweat it!
