500 AM Weight, 25 Lbs Fat. Two good HIT rides over the past two days of 30 and 45 miles. Still not able to keep up with the fastest riders in our regular group but seeing some small improvements. About 2300 calories burnt and trying to stay around a 500 calorie deficit per day. Hope everyone has a great day!

Riding with faster riders improves on your rides...the faster ones started the same as you at one tiime

I always try to ride with people that are faster than me! It's usually more fun especially if every now and then I have a better day than them!

Nice drop and rides SD...for me, biking is not exercise...it's a fun activity that just happens to improve, fitness, strength and burn calories, same as skiing for me, freakin awesome!! Except the crashes :(

@Steven. Agreed! Biking is a blast. I would go completely bonkers without it! If I ever get to retire I know that at least 2 to 4 hours every day will be spent on the bike! I've got a Cervelo also, S5. Great brand of bikes. And yes the crashes are bad, I've broken the pelvis twice, collar bone three times, scapula twice, 12 ribs, 7 transervse process bones in the back, c4 and c5 in the neck, 4 fingers, plate and screws in the wrist, lacerated spleen etc. 5 accidents total and only one involving a car. Lots and lots of physical therapy. I've always had the same physical therapist every time and think I'm still able to ride well because of her. Almost two years accident free so knock on wood!

WOW - SDCyclist - quite a history! I am a "baby" rider! Like 10-12 miles is HUGE for me, and I ride once per week as an extra activity fun day!

Hmm SD, that S5 is a very nice bike!! I just changed out my wheels from the original Fulcrum alloys and picked up some speed (about 2mph at TT wattage) and lost 440gm...still the R3 is never going to be as fast on the flats as yours. PS: I winced reading your crash history...my biggest fear is a tire mechanical taking me out on a couple of big / fast descents we regularly ride.

HCB. Thats how I started. Short rides and eventually got addicted because it was so much fun.
