first day with my tredmill i did 30 min this morning and was so happy...then my son came home and said that if it wasnt an hour i was waisting my time so i did an hour tonight he hurt my feelings but the pitty pot is what made me fat now it is time to get off so i went from sitting on my butt watching tv to walking 4.5 miles today hope i stick to it...

No exercise is ever wasted. Pay no attention to him, and keep right on doing what you can. Don't let anyone derail you! It's not worth it.

That's right. A half hour is excellent! Especially for your first day. Tell you son to shut up. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Better yet, don't tell him anything at all. Just let him see the results. You're doing great. You've already lost 6 pounds, and that's no small feat. You go girl. Come here for encouragement! We've got plenty to spread around. :)

I agree with both gals! My personal trainer has me try to get an hour in each day but sometimes I just can't!

Never say can't. You should really try to aim for an hour of working out and around an hour of walking on your off days. It does'nt all need to be done on the treadmill.

An hour is good, but some days it really just isn't possible to fit in an hour, in which case a half-hour is amazing. Good job on your half-hour, and do the full hour when you are ready, until then your half-hour is good. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Steph is right! No exercise is wasted!! If you were not in the habit of exercising and you add 30 minutes, that's 30 times more than you were accustomed to! There will always be people who want to steal your joy and rob you of your self esteem. Be strong,come here , where we make this journey together! You are doing GREAT!!! Keep on,keepin' on!
