Ow, woke up a little sore. I think I overdid the workout yesterday. Doubt this is a real "gain" and probably just some retained fluid from going at things a little too hard yesterday or maybe it's actually muscle.

Beats me, I fit into a top from NY & Co that I KNOW I couldn't wear before so I'm not going to obsess over 0.4 lb.

Women don't gain muscle overnight. Muscles retain water to help them heal. I started a new exercise plan and my body is killing me. The scale is up 4 pounds. It goes away. Drink plenty of water. Gaining actual muscle takes weeks/months of hard work for most women.

Muscle soreness can add a significant about of temporary weight. I know its hard not to obssess about the scale (I'm OCD, show I should know)

Yeah, I'm a little obsessive too and impatient so I like to "see" the progress. My abs/obliques are really sore though, and my legs to a lesser degree. Today is one of my rest days on the 30 day challenge so I'm really not going to do much more than some yoga tonight, plus I'm going to happy hour after work so I should recover somewhat for tomorrow

Absolutely do not obsess over .4 lbs!!! The fact that your top fits is proof!!! Keep up the great work!!

Glad to hear that factoid about muscle weight gain. I worked my legs hard on Monday, and today on Thursday I'm still really sore. Weight was up 2 1/2 pounds (which I refuse to record), but now it's going back down. My "official" record day is Saturday, so as long as I'm down from the previous week, I'll be OK. Thanks for the reminder, Sue - I was going to have to search the journal entries to find that bit of info :)
