198 again folks! It's hanging tough. Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and I am heading to my mother's house for dinner at 3 pm. Monumental because this is the first thanksgiving dinner at my mother's house since my dad passed in 2011 - she just didn't feel up to it after that so each of us (her kids) rotated the dinner at our house. It's ironic that I have been given responsibility for the dessert (berry trifle - usually I make it only for Christmas but it was my mom's special request this year for Thanksgiving) and drinks. I have made a very high fat/low carb version of the trifle - my pudding is made with heavy cream and a low carb white chocolate instant mix (versus making the cooked one which is more high carb). I used various berries (raspberries, blackberries, blue berries, strawberries) and created two layers alternating the berries and pudding. It's in the fridge now and I will add the whipped cream on the top when I get to mom's house. I dredged the fruit with some bailey's Irish cream (7.4 carbs worth for the entire thing). I am aiming for a lot of meat eating today - smoked turkey, roast beef, salmon, stewed oxtail - and a lot of veggies (I may or may not have any ... planning to fill up on meat). I may need to avoid the hors d'oeuvres depending on what is being served - usually a multitude of meat stuffed pastries and cheese. Most of all, it will be good for all of us to get together (siblings, spouses, kids ... I can update them on my yoga journey :). I hope you all have a great day!
