Managed to make it to the apartment "fitness center" today. I was a little overwhelmed by the fact that there were two other ladies there who were in much better shape than I was. One of them I later realized lives across the street (I recognized her son), and she turned out to be pretty friendly. She is trying to get into the habit of working out in the mornings too, so at least I will have a friend.

a buddy is always good. You did it by making going INSIDE of the fitness center. Keep it up. Do you have a plan/schedule for working out e.g. Cardio/Sculpt, etc.

I hate the gym!! Where I live, the only people who seem to go are thin and very fit people who look at you as if you where an alien!!! Much prefer the swimming pool!!!

Well, currently, I am just doing the treadmill. I have tendonitis in both knees, exercise induced asthma, and a periodic odd heartbeat. I'm taking things slooooow. I prefer the swimming pool too. I took water aerobics in college and LOVED it. But I don't have the money for a gym membership that has it, and I am sure having to drive there would give me excuses.
