Below 220 again for the 3rd time in the past 10 days. I think the Stuck spell may be broken. After being between 221-220 for pretty much the entire month of July and the first few weeks of August I decided I needed to revisit my diet plan. Clearly processed sugar needed to go. I was allowing 1 piece of cake/cupcake on the weekend but it was causing me to have fierce cravings and a "don't care" attitude for several days afterwards. I am not going to let certain foods control me-that is not freedom. I also had to cut out the Oil(s) as well. While I don't use oil for cooking or salad dressings I do eat a small amount of vegan cheeses, meats, mayo, butter, etc. I figured I would cut that super calorically dense junk out of the diet as well. Finally, I realized that my portion control attempts were causing me to eat more, or crave more, of those vegan items. I ditched the portion control and have now been adding loads more of the non starchy veggies and a good serving of a starch (potato, sweet potato, farro, brown rice, etc.,) to my plate. It has made a huge difference feeling both full and satisfied. I'm excited that I am on the brink of a big breakthrough with the weight loss and finally getting the last 6 lbs of my "grief gut" gone.
