Hoping for 184 so gonna drop the veggies and see if the scale drops. It worked before. I WILL get this nasty fat that is slowing me down OFF!

I don't know how dropping the veggies will help. Veggie are almost free at about 35 - 50 calories per serving and NO fat (as long as you don't put butter or cheese on them). Pick high fiber veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, tomatoes, leafy greens, etc. instead of the sugary ones like corn, beans and potatoes and so forth. The complex carbs in them will not lead to glycemic spikes and can make you feel full longer. Hope this helps and good luck.

yea i found the comment assinine as well how is dropping veggies suppose to help lose weight considering they carry very little calories, fat,or carbs, and on top of that you are depriving your body of awesome vitamins .this one is definitly a smdh

Hang in there, Florida Angel. Do what you have to do. Just make sure you get your vitamins in. Good luck.

Depends on the veggies you're talking about.

Hey FloridaAngel. I hope alone's snarky comments do not put you off. I am almost offended myself about his choice of words. We are here to support each other and he uses that language and tone for what ever reason. Keep pushing forward.

Anyone who bothered to take time to read FloridaAngel's food diary and journal would see very easily that for one they do not like veggies, and for another they are following a LCHF approach. So though gareed is offended on FloridaAngel's behalf about alone4rever78's comment, I think gareed's comment is equally out of line for FloridaAngel's approach11 Respect buddy, you are doing fine. Whatever works for you works.

It's wise to remember that there are many people here following many different eating plans. Some of the approaches are almost opposite of each other, such as LCHF vrs. vegetarian or primarily plant based diet. Yet both can lead to healthy living and healthy weight loss. No reason we can't be tolerant and supportive to different approaches even if they don't mimic our own.

Riddle Me This....If Vegetables are so chock a block full of all kinds of Vitamins and Mineral goodness, why is it that Vegans...the most die-hard of all plant eaters are typically the ones suffering from deficiencies of the following: vitamin B12, calcium, iron, and zinc. Hmmm.....
15 gen 16 da utente: mahjohn
I dunno Mahjohn, except that vitamin B12 is found in animal products and yeast, isn't it? (outside of supplements).I don't know if vegans suffer these other deficiencies, but being a vegan doesn't necessarily mean eating the best sorts of veg for optimum intake of treace elements. Being a vegan isn't an automatic ticket to good nutrition if done badly, and anyone can eat badly on whatever regime!

Potato Chips are Vegan :-) If she doesn't eat veggies, no worries...she's not missing out, take a good quality vitamin with her fat diet source and she's good to go.
15 gen 16 da utente: mahjohn
Potato chips aren't vegan, they are a vegan food if fried in vegetable fat. Sorry, one of my bugbears. No food is vegan, people are vegan :D If FloridaAngel wants to go no veggie on her LCHF journery it's perfect for her. That's what I was saying earlier. I appreciate that no veggies is fine - for those who are prepared to take supplements. The advice to 'take a good quality vitamin with her fat diet source' and no veggies speaks volumes. Personally I would rather eat real food, but absolutely, hey, we are all different and if it works I'm not knocking it. Just because it's not what I would do, I am not going to stand in anyone's way if that's what they want to do for themselves. Pop a pill, eat veggies, whatever, it's a good idea to make sure the nutrition is covered one way or the other.

A person can eat badly with poor nutrition on ANY diet.
15 gen 16 da utente: jmb3450
I'm not vegan or vegetarian but often eat little meat sometimes none for a month or 2. I make sure I take my multi vitamin with iron and my B complex just to make sure . Many vegetarians, as well as those who eat meat, eat way too much junk food and are not getting the proper nutrients. You have to eat whole nutrient dense foods especailly if you are limiting caloric intake to lose weight no matter what your WOE is.

Exactly...there's more than one way to get go about living, and I see no use in slamming someone for not eating their veggies....unless they're my kids and that Broccoli will be eaten!!

God, I am sick of all the bickering back and forth. What the hell is going on? Why are some people so offended FOR other people? If you just read what floridaAngel said you might not know she is lc. She says it worked before, believe her. Why does everyone have to get in a pi$$ing match over who's woe is better?
15 gen 16 da utente: Rckc
Mahjohn, that's so funny :):) Well said!
15 gen 16 da utente: Penlan
Given that weight loss is governed by energy balance and not micronutrient content, dropping 30-50kcal of vegetables (or anything else) will produce a slight result in your favor. Assuming that you don't eat something else instead. You might eventually get micronutrient deficiencies if you make a habit of it. Go ahead and do whatever you see fit. The best weight loss diet is whichever one you stick to.

Well said Rckc.

Thanks to my supporters! I don't bash anyone for eating meat (tortured animals) and I get bashed for posting my thoughts about avoiding veggies for a day? Not nice!
