Diario di Tai-Lin, 16 set 17

Well, the past couple of weeks haven't been so good. I had family here for a week, and ate things i shouldn't have. Lost a little of it after they left, but just a little. Then i went to the Washington State Fair with my daughter on Monday, and we ate things we shouldn't have (she is also losing weight). Then i caved and bought a package of my favorite cookies, assuring myself i would only eat one when i really wanted something sweet. So much for that resolve! I just kept going back for "one more". I was down to 172.2 when my sister and her husband came, and this morning i weighed 175.1!! I am determined that i will work hard and get back to where i was on Sept 1st. I now know i can't buy cookies and not eat them all, so i'm not going to buy any more. I am so ashamed of myself. I was really feeling good about the progress i'd made. Also, my internet was down for a couple of days and i couldn't even log my food.

I have the sweet things problem - I keep them in for my mother-in-law, but am forever 'picking' at them.

You know where you went Wrong and you've resolved not to put yourself in that position again. You can't do better than that without turning back time. All the best keeping to it 👍🏻

It is a learning experience this venture into weight loss. When you can't "rock on", "plow on".

You learned a lesson. That's what life is about. Now you know better, so you'll do better. I could never keep my favorite trigger foods in my house. I think that's the case for most people. So you had a setback, but you have acknowledged it and are putting yourself back on track. Good for you. You can do this.

you should not feel ashamed. Food companies create formulas exactly to hit the sweet spot in our brains to have us not be able to put the package/chip/cookie down. It's all part of their marketing. We are more victimized than we think. And then, to top it all off, we become sick and the pharma industry is there to make money off of our sickness. Visually, I see it as the pin ball machine, where we all the ball, and every time we strike a pin, an industry makes money. The trigger is the manufactured food.

A simple way to prevent that next time, is to make your own "guilt free" cookies that you enjoy and can snack on anytime.

Live and learn, it's all good 👍. Remember we all are human, you know what happened and what not to do now..... You got this 😸.

Great advice and support guys, l think we all have trigger foods, weaknesses and gremlins that put us at risk of eating the wrong foods, the important thing is recognising them and how we deal with them. You have done exactly that so well done to you. Looking forward to seeing your progress in the future.

No reason to feel ashamed but if it helps you next time then more power to you!

Maybe when you're in the store and have such a craving...make the decision there that you're not going to eat all...but knowing you will, buy a small package...kids size.
