I went up. I had a late Teriyaki chicken meal and it was salty and boom...I went up. I probably retained a lot of water due to the sodium in the meal but at least there was some movement! Lol... Wife offered me the meal, I said OK, and boom...gain incoming! I wasn't that hungry.

I felt heavier this morning but I know that was because of the salinity and denseness of the food. Today has to be a water and salad day...

Afternoon Update:

Ok, as I stated in the comments below, I ate Teriyaki Chicken from Sarku Japan (A Chain) and it was just chicken. However, I believe due to the lateness of the meal, the salinity of the contents and the denseness of the meat, I went up in weight. SO, I just had a salad for lunch, have pledged to drink lots of water and will hope to see a drop this upcoming week.

Thoughts for the Day:

1) Lucky - Today, I reached into my wallet and pulled out a Powerball ticket that I bought 2 weeks ago. I scanned it in at a news stand and I won $7 dollars! I cashed it in and added it to my wallet...my luck may just be turning around!

2) Change for Change's sake - Sometimes you just have to just shake your head. We have a new dept. head and as he assesses how to make things more efficient he is thinking of eliminating half of our mandate. Now, the whole reason I like where I am currently stationed is because of that mandate he is thinking of bifurcating. It makes no sense to me and sometimes I think people think that change for change's sake is a good thing. I say if the change is not well thought out it will backfire.

3) Good things to come - As I refect at where I am now on the diet, I can admire all that has happened. I am no longer bushed climbing stairs, I no longer have thighs that rub, I don't have a gut, I feel fitter, I am wering clothes that I thought I'd never wear again, I feel more confident and I know that nothing will stop me from meeting my goal. There are a lot of good things to come.

I am beginning to follow Dr. Jack Kruse's recommendations, and he says nothing to eat after 7:30, so I'm trying to stick to that. Not sure if it is the salt for you, or just still digesting the food you ate late. Lean protein is a good way to get rid of the water, as well as drinking it, as you are doing. Keep it up, you are doing great!

Sam thing happened on Monday when I chowed down on my mom's filipino fried rice. I TORE IT UP...like a fiend really. It's so damn good. And lo-and-behold, as I knew would happen, my cheeks were fuller and my love handles rounder the next morning. Damn carbs and their water binding ways!!

I'm pretty sure you'll lose weight if you don't have anything after 7:30 AM. LOL! Some of those pre-packaged foods have 1200 - 1500 mg of sodium; I think that's how a lot of them keep from spoiling. I don't know if you were talking a microwave chicken terriyucki meal or not. That's probably like eating a whole bag of potato chips worth of salt. Grandma always said, "If it don't rot, don't eat it." Anyway, yeah, salt really screws up the weight chart and probably causes an imbalance in everything else as well.

Ok, Let me clarify a few things: 1) The teriyaki chicken was from a local chain Sarku Japan. The meal itself is here : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/sarku-japan-chicken-teriyaki-just-meat-38337959 2) Its true, when I eat a meal after 7:30pm I feel like I gain weight. I have to stop that. 3) I did not drink as much water as I should yesterday... 4) Salt cause me to withhold me water like crazy. 5) The teriyaki Chicken from Sarku Japan was only chicken...no rice, no veggies. Ok, now I will add to my journal..

Your wife is sabotaging you.

LOL...she isn't. I was hungry and while I was weary of eating late...she did give me a choice. That would be diabolical if she was sabotaging me. Hahahaha, in her mind "I will get him plump again so he doesn't leave me...fat boy wont be able to run away...." I very sincerely doubt she is thinking that!

Just curious, do you record everything you eat?
11 ott 12 da utente: DairyKing
I try and record every single morsel. The only thing that I do not record because I forget are the stupid halloween candies that have invaded my home. They are small in size but the last week and a half I have grabbed a few here and there. I have been dilligent of recording my snacks but that candy..it slips my mind. Everyone knows the "fun size" portions of these candies...ugh..maybe that is where I am slipping up! Other than that, i record every single thing...

That's actually kind of scarey if what the majority of health care professionals say is true - you should be pretty anemic. Just about every read says that a man needs to have a minimum of 1500 and a woman 1200 calories a day just to support normal total daily energy expenditures. What would be your normal "maintenance intake" when you achieve your desired weight?
11 ott 12 da utente: DairyKing
My count tends to be 900-1600 cals a day. I am looking at my BMR it says that I am burning about 2400 cals a day simply by living. I try to log my activity as well. I haven't felt anemic or weak. If anything I am feeling stronger as I lose weight. I am not looking malnouriished nor do I feel any weaker. Thank you for your concern. Also, the health care professionals also say to eat whole grain...but I am telling you that wheat/glutens are a killer. Read "Wheat Belly" and you will see what I mean. I am a firm believer in the principles of that book.

First, grats on winning some extra cash. I like change when it is for a clear benefit, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I am also looking forward to many good things to come and like you I am no longer panting as I try to go up stairs, my thighs no longer rub (which is an awesome feeling! especially when wearing shorts), my gut is shrinking and now I am working on toning it, and I had to buy all new clothes (what is bad about that???). Congratulations on all the good that you have accomplished and I can't wait until you reach your goal!! :)

Thanks Kim, I also follow your journal and progress and see that you are also achieving your goals and for that I congratulate you. Its a long battle and the war is not over when we meet our goal....we have to maintain the loss and maintain the healthier lifestyle. I can't wait to reach my ultimate goal... P.S. As a Guy, I always disliked buying clothes but now that I have lost weight, it isn't so bad..
