I'm a little confused about this, and it's quite frustrating. There is so much conflicting information about how many calories I should be eating. The NHS gave me an RDI of 2000kcal just to maintain weight, but this thing told me 2600 to LOSE weight? I think its calculator might be a little off. Changing it to 1900. In other news, I've been pretty good today. I had some of those little M&S bites earlier, and I might go up to the Spar and get a Creme Egg or something later, but I went to the gym yesterday and I'll be good tomorrow and Saturday, so it's okay.

Don’t forget about metabolic adaptation 🧐 look it up, it does not hurt to gain knowledge prior to dieting

I think the calculations are based on averages. I have a more efficient engine so I need fewer calories to maintain than what is recommended to lose even if I select sedentary. My husband's engine is not very efficient so he eats about twice the calories that I do. At nearly 6' tall he is barely 140 lbs. I get annoyed at times because it just isn't fair, but then I try to remember that I'll be the one to survive a zombie apocalypse, and he wouldn't last a week.

Mine is 1400 on FS. I don't lose weight with 1400 calories, or if I do, it would be very slowly, like 2 weeks or more to lose a pound. I stick between 900-1150 calories which isn't hard to do on Intermittent Fasting. I usually eat only 2 meals a day. Sometimes 3 (yesterday one meal was 1/4 grilled cheese sandwich)

I’m a diabetic that needed to consume less calories. I’m on a 1800 cal diet that is approved both by ADA & Dr. anything over 2k are for very very active people

Fritzy 22, I’m sorry to be so candid but that is the absolute worst advice ever

Michelleevans - it's doctor approved! My window eating is between 6-7am and 2pm.

Sometimes the gym will have some kind of monitor to help you figure out your resting calorie burn.

The deficit you pick will dictate if you become a successful dieter or a yo-yo/stressful dieter

Choose wisely 😉

What do you do for a living? On your feet a lot? Do you workout? 2k like Rosio says may be a good place to start, monitor weight loss, if after 3 weeks there is no loss, try 18-1900. Repeat. The higher you can go while still losing the better. You will get more nutrition in, have an easier time getting a good amount of protein , and your metabolism will keep humming.

I spend a lot of the day sitting. I do work out at the gym, but not enough to warrant that level of calorie intake.

So you think you got overweight by eating 2000 calories a day?
21 mar 19 da utente: rosio19
No, I think I was eating more than that. However, a lot of sources say that 2000kcal is good for maintaining weight, rather than losing it.

I should mention that I've been trying toose weight for a few weeks now and 1900 seems to be working.

You are right young lady
21 mar 19 da utente: rosio19
However using common sense if you simple create a deficit from what you were eating, wouldn’t you lose weight?
21 mar 19 da utente: rosio19
1900 sounds reasonable

👍🏻
