Absolutely brutal. My work schedule combined with the holiday food choices have buried me this past month. Since Nov 4th, I have gone up almost seven pounds. Interestingly enough, my pants don't feel tighter and my shirt doesn't feel constricted. I may have put on some muscle BUT I know this cannot continue this way. I have to get down to my routine.

1) No Wheat
2) Protein galore
3) Veggies and fruit
4) No eating after 7pm.

Sigh, heaven help me as I need some intestinal fortitude to fight my way through the diet minefield known as the holiday season.

Ditto! I finally managed to claw my way back on track yesterday. Now I'm just taking it one day at a time. This time I'm trying to find acceptable treats for myself along the way. Today.. I'm googling low carb wines. Unfortunately I'm finding higher carb wines that look so freakin good.

Its been a carbfest at my house..between baked goods, chocolates, traditional holiday foods...AARRRGGGHHH...just unbearable. I know that once this holiday season ends Jan 2, I will drop weight but this has been the toughest month by far!

Stay strong. It is definitely harder with all the temptations but not impossible. I have noticied that the extra sugar and carbs was zapping my energy and after a couple days of better eating my energy is back today. :)

I just noticed your profile pic. You look great! I wish I had more advice for sticking with it during the holidays but I am the worst offender lately. The only holiday season I ever lost weight was when I was going through a very traumatic break up. I wouldn't suggest drumming up drama to lose weight, though. :)

Thanks everyone. Its just tough...+7 pounds since the beginning of November...damn holiday season. I am trying to at least limit the damage. I cannot allow myself to start sliding back. The profile pic is about 5 lbs ago..mid november I believe.

Since you've been eating carbs, you probably are retaining a lot more water, which means most of that 7 lbs will come off fast. When I was on vacation in September I gained 12 lbs in one week and lost 12 lbs the next week when I got home and back on my diet. No way could that be fat, and yours probably isn't either. We don't want to lose you here, you contribute a lot!

thanks debbie. Its been tough..deadlines, holiday parties, cookies, cakes, carbs, OH MY! Lol...I will probably be back regularly in January...after all this madness has subsided.
