Well, another new day and so far, better than yesterday. I wasn't feeling so good yesterday - slight fever which for me, IS a fever. Being hypothyroid, I run pretty low generally - not unusual to have a waking temperature in the 95's and 96's. Got up to 100.4 yesterday, kept in touch with the doctor's office and then he called to check up on me. He's fairly confident it's most likely a viral infection - not anything to do with surgery, not bacterial, but I finally convinced him to give me another prescription for antibiotics anyway. I really do NOT abuse antibiotics and I totally get the problem with over- prescribing them. I do. But I've only been on antibiotics once in years now, and that was due to a dog bite on my face a little over a year ago. But my thinking was, if it IS bacterial, this would attack it, if it's viral, no fowl, no harm. Doc said to go to urgent care or ER if I'm worse today - fearing a possible case of pneumonia as worst case scenario. At least, thank God, it doesn't appear the surgical sites are involved in any way so no danger (I hope and pray!) of having to have implants removed. That would suck so much. Anyway, today feels better so far and I just did the breathing exercise thing... spirometer?? I don't know what it's called, but able to get all three balls up and actually stay up for a couple of seconds. So that seems like an improvement. Didn't know I was supposed to be doing it every 15 or 20 min! The stuff they tell you after that you don't recall at all. I'm also feeling slightly less swollen today. Hubby just went to pick up my antibiotics and will make a quick stop at the grocery store, but once he's home, I'm taking another shower! I didn't even shower yesterday - probably shows how crappy I was feeling.

RWL, keep using the spirometer. If your lungs are being affected, that will help, along with the antibiotics, to keep pneumonia at bay. And make sure you take ALL of them, even if you start feeling better. And if that fever spikes again, get your butt to the ER or urgent care, like the doc said. Most times if you go right away, they can stop it in it's tracks, and even a couple of hours may mean the difference between staying home or being hospitalized. This is nothing to sneeze at (no pun intended)! Take care and keep in touch. Hope that by the time you read this, you have showered, the fever is gone, and you feel better all the way around. Still praying!

Absolutely the spirometer is so crucial to avoid pneumonia. I so pray your fever is gone, that you felt well enough for a shower and that you have plenty of company around to take care of your needs. It's so hard to remember aftercare instructions when you are in pain and exhausted.

Hi ctlss... I will take all the antibiotics... I practically had to beg for them! I'll let him know I'm already feeling better, just so I can get the remaining five days worth. I'd rather take them too long than not long enough in this case. I AM much better - showered, even make up and had to go get a bra. No trying on...just guess-timating. Worked, at least for the one and only that happened to hook in front AND no underwire. I'm SO appreciative of all of your prayers and concern and love you're giving me! Oh! And yeah...nothing like a sneeze! I didn't know I could sneeze this way at all :D Not nearly as satisfying, but a damn site less painful! lol... Actually feeling pretty good, considering. Thanks! Hope YOU feel better! <3

Thanks, multiplicity... I appreciate your prayers, as well. And yes, I'll continue with the spirometer...wish it'd been impressed more into my brain at the time. Doing MUCH better today, though!

I am with everybody. The spirometer IS important. I had to use one and they made sure I used it. I am asthmatic and had to be very careful. Also I noticed redness for a while on my "new" breasts which went away. Also had a slight fever, but just rested. Shower, even if you just stand in the water and enjoy.....it will make you feel better. But rest, do not overdo anything. Recovery will happen but don't push it, be careful. I sure hope this finds you feeling better. Swelling goes down gradually as healing progresses. Be patient, you will look great soon, but be patient. Hard to say, I know, but it will happen. I think about what you are going thru, as my own surgery is only 10 months old. By Thanksgiving you will be a "new" woman! Be well RWL and rest that new beautiful body :-)

Need a little comedy? I dont remember them telling me to use the spirometer often either and I know the first time post-surgery I went to use it I blew into it instead of sucking in and I told my husband it was broken lol! He was like you have to inhale not exhale into it goofball. Heehee! I was totally drugged up so that's my excuse. Hope you are feeling much better by the time you've read this and your November starts out on a great note!

Next Number... I can't even express how grateful I am for you! Obviously your situation was SO much different, and yet, you gladly share your experiences with similar surgeries and how you felt! You are amazing. And I'm actually relieved to hear you ran a slight fever and your breasts were slightly red. I don't notice that yet, but so difficult for me to tell what is the new "me" and what is swelling! lol...but I'm on the mend...I'll continue with the spirometer and rest. And more rest. I probably did overdo it yesterday - had my husband take me to Kohls for a bra. But it was a toss up - suffer with a slightly too tight band around the rib cage or use my new energy to find a replacement! I think it worked out okay. Today is another nothing day, though... rest, read, watch TV. Tough life! lol... But again NN, thank you! Hearing your experience has given me a lot of comfort and taken away a lot of the fear. Just wasn't really sure what I was supposed to feel like. Thanksgiving is around the corner...sure hope you're right!

Youngbug...I did the same thing! Only maybe worse....MORE of a blond moment - it wasn't the first time I used it! It was like the second DAY I was supposedly using it... And yep, I blame it on the drugs...those lovely drugs... I am feeling better. I think it's a bad head cold or sinus thing, but nothing serious like pneumonia, thank God. I'll check journals, but sure hope you had a great Halloween with those precious babes of yours.
