Morning all!

How are all of you? I have decided that this is going to be harder than I thought. Exercise: No motivation. I need some! My motivation is lacking today. I have no idea why. Finally told my doc that I have no incentive to do this. Because it's spread to the rest of the family. It's been near 2 years that anyone has used the exercise equipment downstairs.

It's my ranting for this morning. lol

I have access to the recumbent bike (which I got, because my dad said he would use it), but my knees are weak. I need to strength them.

And I am being lazy. I am Procrastinating. Need to get rid of it. What would you suggest regarding time on the bike? I am trying to jump-start things.

maybe drink some caffeine and put on your favorite music that will get you pumped.

Since you need to strengthen your knees, start with 10 minutes on the bike with no resistance everyday for a week. The following week warm up with 5 minutes no resistance 5 minutes low resistance and cool down 5 minutes no resistance. Each week add 5 more minutes at low resistance until you hit 20 minutes, then you can start increasing your resistance

I second the music! A podcast can also be motivating to listen to, but the rhythm of music helps you exercise harder, but you feel like it takes less effort. Anyway, if the bike doesn't motivate you, why not start with walking outside? I think people that walk outdoors are some of the most consistent exercisers. The weather is pretty good in most places right now. If you get started with walking, the bike may look more appealing, or it may be a good option when the weather is bad.

Thank you so much! I never thought of those ideas before. I operate best with music. I got Spotify for a reason, and that's because I needed music. I have never heard of listening to podcasts. Now I've got to find one that is really for my tests. I am against Rogan. I need to look the Spotify collection of podcasts.

You could try "The Genius Life" with Max Lugavere, and there are plenty of other health-oriented podcasts if your philosophy doesn't align with his. I'm currently listening to the Holderness family podcast, which is most relevant to the married with kids crowd.

The key is to only listen to the podcast when exercising. If you want to hear more, you have to exercise.

Good ideas by all around! I have to have my coffee first. I've heard caffeine does lots of good stuff. Thank you all. Podcasts are out of my realm, but am willing to give it a try. I will start keeping better track of my blood sugars. 98 was this morning's reading. I went to sleep early, at about 8:30pm to 9pm. I figure it's because it was because I slept a solid 8 hours. Finally! lol

I did my first 10 minutes (not counting cool down) of exercise since 2004. Thank you all! I opted for music too. Incubus! And the track is 'Make No Sound In The Digital Forest' I feel ready to work out again. Tomorrow, I will do it again! Thank you all for the suggestions. Music seems the best for me, at least for now. Thank you all so much!

JW, if you are into Incubus, you should try cycling to Viking Metal. That will get your blood roaring! 😄✌️
