You are rockin' nimm.

Thanks. I don't feel like I'm rockin with these late night snacks that wreck the scale the next morning. BUT as long as the belt doesn't get tight, I'll just keep plugging away :)

Well, Nimm, I must say that I'm jealous! I know that women have a higher percentage of body fat than men, but I'd love to get mine down to, oh, so 18-22%! I honestly just don't really know how to go about it or where to start. I'm a runner, so that's about all I got for now!

I see you got the Body Fortress whey protein powder! How do you like it?

That's crazy low! Where's the pictures? ;) I sincerely hope dadms means he's running to the gym to lift some weights. :(

@dadams10: I take the body fat estimate with a very large grain of salt - I don't live near anywhere that can give me a dunk tank or bod pod reading, so I'm left with using a home bioelectric impedence scale, and I don't know how accurate it is. I mostly rely on it to see whether I'm going up or down. Based on other rough estimates, and my own understanding of what you look like at different body fat levels, I think my scale is being generous to me. I'm probably closer to 11%, is my guess. As far as your own level - running is probably one of the best ways to do it. I don't have any great insight - I just limited my calories and did daily cardio for a long while. I didn't even start lifting/weight training until recently. So I'm afraid I can't be too much help other than just to offer generic encouragement. I did have an easier time losing fat once I got very strict with the quality of my foods though - no simple carbs, lots of protein, whole foods when possible, and almost no added/refined sugars. Other than that, just stay on your feet as much as possible! :)

@adelinemf: I'm not sure if I've got what you were referring to specifically; I have a tub of Whey Isolate powder, vanilla creme flavor. But I like it! We mix it in with a lot of foods to boost the protein and add a little sweetness - particularly oatmeal. And I'll mix it with my hydrolyzed whey for the post-workout recovery drink. Seems to work quite well.

@AmethystM - It is very low...probably too low. I think my impedence scale is being generous to me! They have some well-known shortcomings, after all. I feel like I'm around 11%, just because I can see some abs, but they're not exactly chiseled. BUT seeing as how I used to a big soft oval, I'll take it :) As far as pictures, well...I'm camera shy, but a few months ago I did post in the before and after thread. I've started weight training AND lost about another 10 pounds of body fat since then, though, so...who knows. Maybe the scale is closer in the ballpark than I think :)

it's the same brand of what I have, I just happen to have the chocolate and chocolate peanut butter flavors. I am excited to see how it affects my progress after my workouts.
