So.... when I found out I was at high risk of heart attack because of my cholesterol my LDL was 201, (102 points higher than the healthy range of 0-99). My weight was 250. The first month I lost 20 pounds and my LDL dropped to 159. I was super excited to see that my weight loss had done so much good. The second month I had lost only 11 pounds. I thought maybe I will have lost half as much cholesterol as well since I only last half a much weight. But this time my LDL only dropped 4 points to 155. Though I had increased my exercise time and continued to eat at a calorie deficit I had quit focusing on high fiber and low fat and low sugar. So I refocused my sights on those 3 things and I continued to increase my exercise time from 30 minutes a day to 1 or 2 hours a day if my schedule allowed. I didn't know if it would work for certain, but I got my bloodwork results back today. My LDL cholesterol is down again from 155 to 133. Woo-hoo! Very excited! Now if I can keep this up for 2 more months my cholesterol should be back in the proper range under 100 points.

that's AMAZING!! Great job! High LDL is what brought me here too. I'm down a total of 18 so far in 2 months. Hopefully if I am able to keep the progress I will have results that are positive too!

Thank you for sharing your statistics! So important to have comparisons (it's like before/after photos 🙂). I'm right there with you on modifying diet and experimenting with exercise to lower the stinkin' LDL and total cholesterol numbers. Just did new lipid panel this week, meeting with doctor on Wednesday for a physical and to go over my progress. Very exciting that you're finding how your diet and activity levels interact with your readings, John.
